In Rohini, Delhi, a loud blast near a CRPF school prompted a police investigation. Forensic teams are analyzing the scene.
A mysterious blast was reported near a CRPF school in Prashant Vihar area in Delhi’s Rohini on Sunday morning. No one was reportedly injured in the incident, according to officials of the Delhi Fire Services. The blast had damaged the wall of the school, a few shop located nearby, and a car.
DFS officials said, “We received a call regarding a blast near the boundary wall of CRPF school at 7.50 am. We immediately rushed two fire engines to the spot. There was no fire and no one was injured due to the blast, so our vehicle returned.”.
Emergency services arrived quickly on the spot. Fire engines, bomb squads, and police forensic teams were shifted to the spot near the CRPF school in Sector 14, Rohini, to figure out the source of the loud blast. Senior police officers belonging to the crime branch and the Special Cell rushed to the scene.
The police are probing the case from all ends and are also considering a firecracker as a possible cause for the blast. The forensic team and the crime unit are collecting samples from the spot of the blast. The CCTV footage is also being scanned in the course of the probe.
The police received a PCR call at 7:47 am regarding the loud blast. Upon arrival, it was seen that the school wall was broken with a foul smell and glasses of a near-by shop and car were smashed. The crime spot has been cordoned off and the fire brigade team is present on the spot. The matter is being fully investigated to know the cause of the blast.
“Our forensic team and crime unit are at the spot to collect samples from the blast location. It could be a firecracker, but we are investigating the entire matter from all angles,” a senior police officer told news agency PTI.
